Predictions for the match between Juventus and Milan

Inter are Italian champions for the twentieth time. A 2-1 win over Milan sealed the deal for Simone Inzaghi’s side, who opened up an insurmountable 17-point advantage over their local rivals.

For both Juventus and Milan, the goal should be to get closer to the top spot next season. But both clubs could be under new management at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Reports indicate that Milan is preparing to sack Stefano Pioli after their sixth consecutive defeat in the derby last time out. At the time of writing, he remains in charge at San Siro, but it appears the Italian will be sacked at the end of the season.

Pioli has led the young Milan side to Serie A glory in 2021/22. This was an amazing accomplishment and one that few expected before the season started.

But in the last two seasons The Rossoneri He didn’t win the cup. Their failure to at least compete for the title this season looks set to bring down the curtain on Pioli’s five-year tenure.

Max Allegri’s situation at Juventus is less clear. His contract runs until 2025 but there has been talk of a possible change this summer.

The veteran coach, who won five Italian league titles during his first spell at Allianz Stadium, recently admitted that he does not know what will happen at the end of the season.

“I don’t think about it,” he said. “I love my job. However, the club will evaluate the coach’s influence in one context or another.”

Juventus qualified for the Coppa Italia final in midweek, after losing 2-1 to Lazio, which saw them advance 3-2 on aggregate.

A piece of silverware might spare Allegri, but both Juventus and Milan can make a strong end to the Serie A season – starting with a positive result in this crucial encounter on Saturday.

Juventus vs Milan betting tips

The Italian League title is no longer a goal for Juventus and Milan after Inter’s victory on Monday.

Milan will win – 3/1 (Bet365)

Although Milan cannot win any title this season, you do not feel that the players have given up on Pioli.

It’s hard to know what’s going on behind closed doors, but although another loss to Inter has cast a pall over the club, Milan have been mostly excellent in Serie A since the turn of the year.

Only Inter collected more points than The Rossoneri Since January 1st. In the table covering that period, Juventus ranks eighth.

Elimination from the Europa League by Roma is another black mark against Pioli. But Milan are still more than capable of coming out on top in Turin on Saturday.

Inter are the only team in the division with a better away record than Milan, who have won 10 of their 16 matches at their opposition’s stadiums – just one win less than they recorded at San Siro.

Meanwhile, Juventus have won just one of their last seven Serie A matches. At a best price of 3/1, this bet is great value.

Tie at the end of the first half – 5/6 (Bet365)

A late goal from Arik Milik rescued Juventus on Tuesday evening, preventing their Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio from going to extra time.

Any analysis of their performance that night must take into account the fact that Juventus were 2-0 up in the first leg, but Allegri’s side had just qualified in the second leg.

Both sides have had busy schedules of late, so Saturday’s encounter could be a slow-burning affair.

Also consider that 16 of Juventus’ 33 Serie A matches so far have been equal in the first half (only Lazio and Torino have had more draws in the first period). This equates to 48.5%, but domestically this number rises to 62.5%.

Don’t be surprised if there’s nothing 45 minutes separating Juventus and Milan on the clock.

Tied at the end of the first half at 6/5 with Bet365

Christian Pulisic scores at any time – 4/1 (Betfred)

AC Milan have done a good job of sharing goals this season.

Four players – Olivier Giroud, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek – have reached double figures in all competitions, a feat that not even Inter can match.

Of the players who will be on the pitch on Saturday, only Giroud and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic have created more nets than Pulisic.

However, the US international is only 10th on the list of all-time top scorers. Hence, this is an opportunity that bettors should not miss.

Pulisic has rebuilt his reputation this season after a difficult spell at Chelsea. Predominantly operating on the left flank, he has also provided six assists in Serie A.
